Here Comes the Rain

Autumn weather has officially arrived, low 60s and overcast. During dinner we noticed the patio umbrella waving ominously in the wind, so A headed out to crank it down before it was swept away!

A nice Monday back to our school & work routine. Regular daily moments to cherish: first thing this morning, sampling the homemade fruit leather that we dehydrated overnight; listening to A practice "Ode to Joy" on the piano this afternoon; having E help with dinner prep by immediately scurrying every scrap of paper or cardboard to the recycle bin and every bit of unused produce to the compost bin. (He's such a good helper these days and especially when it involves anything related to his stated career goal of sanitation engineer, aka "the recycler guy.")
