Gorillas in the mountain bush

Up at 5am and up to gorilla reception, we were allocated the BWENGE family deemed "intelligent' so our group leader Ferdinand told us.

We were teamed with Ann and Jeff a couple from the US who were living in Kenya as Ann was on secondment there.

A really steep climb made me very dizzy, thank goodness for the lovely porter as he was practically dragging me up the rocks at some point! We climbed over the border wall and within 5 minutes we gound our group. An amazing moment, could not believe we got so close.

A lazy group we circled round taking pictures and then followed them as they moved on, the hour's time went by at a reasonable pace.

I decided I had to try and see gorillas again the next day.

We came back to the hotel via the gift shops where we collected our certificates.

Angela and I booked in for the massage at the hotel - 50 minutes waiting in the dark (power cut) and heavy rain we discovered the masseuse was not able to come due to the weather. We complained to reception and returned to our room to find puddles on the floor so back to reception to complain and thankfully we were moved to room 13 which in this case did prove lucky as no leaks!

Huge dinner and a couple of large amarulas later it was time for bed after an eventful day!
