A gnarled old sweet chestnut tree

Just outside the kitchen here is a magnificent chestnut tree. Ardechoise in its girth, I imagine it has been here a few years. Sadly it probably won't be here too much longer as sweet chestnuts are generally not too long lived in this part of the world and some major branches have already fallen off. It will leave a big hole when it goes.
Another grey damp Dartmoor day - this is what we expected and so were clearly spoilt for our first three weeks on the edge of the moor. Tomorrow I am sure the sun will arrive and will stop me needing to have to fiddle about with adobe photoshop to enhance the images!
Scarf number two churned out by Tricia's loom - probably only six more presents to make!
