Bull elephant seal

Today we had two fantastic landings, the first at Will Point on Royal Bay. Fresh snow had fallen overnight and the landscape was very monotone. However, we were not there very long before the wind turned against us and we had to return to the mother ship. In the afternoon we made a second landing at chaotic Gold Harbour. The Giant Petrels were still fighting, the penguins still ambling around and the bull Elephant Seals still slogging it out amongst each other to be beachmaster. This photo was taken in dwindling light as I waited for the zodiac at the end of the day.
