The deep south

Today we headed to the southernmost part of South Georgia, to Drygalski Fjord. The weather had changed and made it appear even wilder, more desolate and glacial. We had our first sightings of icebergs today. Every decent photo of an iceberg should contain a bird to give an idea of scale !
The wind was very strong and along with the swell and passing snow squalls no landings or zodiac cruises were possible. One was attempted but was aborted when the weather suddenly turned worse.
