The river where John was brought up on, his home being on the banks of the Tweed, not far from where this photo was taken and so swimming and fishing in this Tweed valley river, was almost a daily event -and what a wonderful childhood his 8 brothers and sisters had..this is why they learnt to swim very early - they had to..

...Our daughter, April-Louise took us up to his home town today - just along from here where we had lunch with 2 of our grand children - and then went shopping..

...This photo was taken on our way home as it was getting late and in the background are the McPherson Ranges..and what a storm this one was which was coming across the ranges and apparently created more havoc not long after..with large hailstones, but we did miss this one - so unpredictable is the weather right here..we're not used to this at all..!! But we've had such a great day and off home in the morning and what a great time we've had and we're already planning another...
