trying to blend in

I think this flicker is trying to become one with the tree, to fade into the background, to be unnoticeable.
And yet, that bright red patch on his face rather gives him away.
And so it is at some social functions for me. Just when I think I am off in my own little corner innocently observing others, my antisocial behavior draws someone's attention.
It's always better to flit with the flock!
