Uxbridge?

Betsy and Ellie had softball training at the Sports College. I went to the nearby shopping centre and noticed the station has an original sign and beautiful architecture above the usual Starbucks and modern ticket office.

The town centre also has a strange indoor market where stalls selling hats and cheap clothes jostle with those selling sweets by the quarter, dog treats, fleecy blankets with pictures of tigers on them, flat caps, oilcloth by the yard, real Christmas Trees, acrylic wool and dressmaking notions. I wandered around it for ages, fascinated.

It reminded me of the cover of one of my favourite albums, New Boots and Panties by Ian Dury and the Blockheads.
