O Christmas Tree

I decided to get the Christmas box out of the cupboard today and unearth one or two knick-knacks, even though I'm not going to be at home for Christmas.

This little porcelain tile, entitled 'O Tannenbaum', is one of four I bought back in the 80s. They were made in West Germany by a company called Villeroy & Boch and were meant to be sent as postcards, but apart from giving one to a friend (I didn't dare post it in case it broke) I have kept the others and bring them out every Christmas. The boxes still have their £2.95 price tag on them. A little research on t'internet reveals that they have become quite collectible.

I was next in line when Robbie Coltrane was at the check-out in our local Co-op this afternoon and was amused when he said, "Sorry, girls" to me and the equally-ancient woman behind me when he went looking for something he'd forgotten :-)
