Surge

Down to Northumberland in the afternoon for a pre-Christmas weekend with my parents. The sea at Budle Bay was looking fierce enough and at Bamburgh absolutely pounding into the shore, as wild as I've ever seen it. Up the road the waves were piling into the sea wall of Seahouses harbour and you could still hear all that roaring water right at the far end of the village where we were staying. I nipped into the garden a few times to check the sky for star-spotting potential (very poor this time) and each time was met by the wall of noise coming from the east.

The land beyond.
