The Americans
After an 'office' type day at the office, where I received an unexpected and very pleasant surprise, but tonight I'm settling down to re-read through the classic photobook The Americans by Robert Frank.
It defined the photo road trip and was the first look at modern America. It's right up there with On the Road and the genre that followed.
If you're at all interested in the history of modern photo journalism or 'Americana' you must beg, borrow or steal a copy.
It took a Swiss photographer to define to show us what America looked like. Wouldn't it be great to follow in his footsteps?
