It's still cold out there
The steaming lake is so beautiful. The temperatures are still subzero. My nephews who are working the oil fields in North Dakota have been ribbing their cousin, Thor, who's in the Antartic. They've been working in -30 and -40 F and it's 30 above at McMurdo Station.
I went Christmas shopping early this morning so I could avoid the crowds. Good plan, I was home by 12:30. The snowbanks are getting high enough it's impossible to see traffic coming in from the side. I almost t-boned a car coming out of a parking lot. I was on the main drag and instead of inching out and giving a person some warning, it pulled halfway into the road right in front of me. I hit the brakes, started sliding and fishtailing; fortunately, no one was in the left lane and I was able to slide around them. Hope they are smart enough to realize how lucky they were and are more careful in the future. Best viewed in large.
