Heart of the village.

We arrived at church this morning just as they had finished putting up the village tree. (They being the Gala committee who always erect it and then the Parish Council organise the switching on later in the day with refreshments afterwards in church.)

It was fortuitous timing as they needed someone to test the lights to ensure they were working. Chris was just the man to do,it and he will be the one doing the actual switching on from the church cellar - not exactly a glamorous role!

I had intended combining this shot with one taken later but it is now raining heavily so I think this will have to do.

So from tonight the centre of our village will be aglow with festive lights.
