Back to school
One Street 4
Popped up Long Lane to photograph the Primary School this morning as I thought it would be more PC than doing it when the children are around.
This is the Victorian building that fronts onto Long Lane- at the back there are modern extensions for extra classrooms the main hall and the kitchens. When my children attended here this side of the building housed the classrooms for years 2, 3 and 4 and a library but at that time it was a First school for children for age 4 to 9. Now it has reverted to a full primary with children staying until the age of 11.
You can see the rather modern gates and the high interior fences, all relatively recent additions for security. At the furthest end of the picture is the Church lower down the hill.
At least it is still in use which my old school of a similar age in the next villages is now gated housing. Here
