Old Moat
Visited a Xmas Market in an old Manor house, it was rebuilt in 1600s, as a house, but the defensive moat and outer walls were retained, as Germany during these times was a dangerous place to live, with bands of out of work Mercenaries wandering the land, and ready to attack any weak or undefended house. The drawbridge must have been filled in at some time, as it is now the (only) entrance to the house, where I stood to take the photo. The Market was OK, but all very pricey, but a pleasant morning, even though the weather is cold and grey.
