The old town of Norma.

This is the old town of NORMA as seen from the pre-Roman ruins of NORBA (should be NORBA).

Apart from the ruins there is a splendid view of the whole Pontina flat land area which used to be a malaria plagued swamp unitl Mussolini built canals and drainage systems, turning it into good farmland as far as the sea.

As the light was fading and we had almost reached the car, I realized I had left my camera bag on the side of an ancient temple base. Stefano and Anders, both runners, dashed of to rescue it for me.

As the base of the hill town are the very famous NINFA GARDENS http://www.fondazionecaetani.org/gallery.php?s_IDPAGINA=GIARDINO#prettyPhoto/6/ well worth a vist.
It is very difficult to get in though.
