Shetland in Monochrome

Lovely light again this morning. This was the calm before the thaw.

Shortly after I took this picture, looking across Quendale Bay to Garth's Ness with Fitful Head behind, the (forecast) snow started. Over the last few hours this has gradually turned to heavy rain, and the temperature climbed from zero to about 6C, and it's due to climb to 9C by midnight.

I don't think there will be much snow left to clear come first light.

I've added some more pictures to the Flickr set for this visit.
