A Look into the Throat Sac

After watching the 3 hour Sound of Music special last night, I hit the ocean with music on my mind.

"The seas are alive...with the sound of shorebirds." I don't know what the fishermen thought about it...but when the spirit moves you...it moves you. The lederhosen I was wearing just added to the atmosphere. (I made 'em with some old curtains in our condo.)

I only went to one spot...a boat ramp. Pelicans, blue herons, buzzards, an osprey, and some wood storks. I had a rough time choosing, but how many times do you get to look down the throat of a pelican? I felt like an ears, eyes, and throat specialist. Call me Doctor Tim.

Many flyers are on my FLICKR PAGE. Fly over, and have a look.

Then...slap it into large, and tell me what that lump with a hole in it is. (It kinda looks like a small geyser in Yellowstone.)

One last pelican thought. Can you imagine what kind of stomach they must have in order to break down an entire fish? Unbelievable. It a-l-m-o-s-t makes me proud to have them unload on me as they fly over. SPLAT!

P.S. Happy birthday to my baby Julie. (She's the one who just got married.) Love you Sunshine.
