Hedge Sparrow
Just keeping warm, catching the sun and waiting its turn on the bird table - after the robin, starlings and overfed wood pigeons who are all aggressive to the smaller birds.
An update on the seals who suffered trauma last night. The high tide and surge came right in over the dunes and the wardens opened the gates to let the seals and pups through onto dry dunes. But this wasn't enough so they had to cut chunks out of the fence to let the seals to safety. So this morning there was a workforce of Lincolnshire Tust Wardens repairing the fences to protect both seals and public. So the area is currently closed to the public.
The good news is that they don't think many seal pups have been drowned.
All very dramatic -let's hope the North sea doesn't send such aweful high tides with a sea surge again this winter
