Seal Love
Had a brilliant day at Donna Nook. It was wild but no rain and plenty of sunshine with the very strong wind. The birds were agitated and kept taking to flight so there were dramatic flights of Brent Geese and Lapwings and hundreds of starlings kept flying into the buckthorn bushes and feasting on the berries.
We are all very concerned about the expected tidal surge that will follow the high spring tide tonight. The East coast is on red alert and in Boston about 25 miles from me 18000 homes have been evacuated. I hope the seals will be Ok. Fortunately many are ready to return to sea but there are still plenty being fed and they will be at risk of drowning if they get separated from their mothers. We can only wait and see.
