My Hero...

RIP Madiba.

I fought for you as a teenager. You taught me to question. To take responsibility. To act and be part of the change you want to see in the world. To not stand by.

In adulthood I had the incredible privilege of meeting you in person. I was able to tell you what an honour it was. I told you that I had been part of the anti-apartheid movement here in Scotland as a young girl.

You smiled at me and said: "Well it worked, thank you.."
