Saint Cuthmann

Day 5 December 2013 Challenge: history

Legend has it that St. Cuthman built a church in my town, at one time dedicated to him, later to St Andrew, and now jointly to St Andrew and St Cuthman, where he stopped after carrying his mother in a wheelbarrow. He features on the road signs at the entrance to the town, and is commemorated by this statue, which is situated across the road and facing the church.
