Windy on the hill

Wow, what winds. This is a windy day even on the Uni hill. We are known for being a high wind place but today's storm is rewriting the books on wind. The picture doesn't do justice to what we see through our office window. Driving rain (no cows flying past), trees bending double...

The drive to work was OK this morning. No major incidents as we have no rivers swelling over their banks or sea water pouring to our streets. I feel for those who do. Some poor soul has already died thanks to the storm. I did shudder a little driving under some old trees thinking how much of a chance thing it is whether a tree falls on you or not.

My challenge for the day included getting out of the car without the wind ripping the door out of my hand. Ballast included sports bag and an assortment of my usual bag lady paraphernalia. Library door persisted a while before opening against the gale. Out of breath but safely indoors!
