Marlborough Rock Daisies
Marlborough rock daisies (Pachystegia insignis) are compact, low-growing shrubs, grown as much for their attractive leathery leaves as their eye-catching daisy flowers. The rock daisy is common throughout eastern parts of Marlborough and is most plentiful along the Kaikoura coast where it can be seen growing off many of the bluffs, surviving strong winds and salt spray.
This plant is one of my favourites and grows well on the bank above my drive - yes, surviving strong winds and salt spray! I love it :)
A reminder about our Christmas blipmeet this coming Saturday - do come if you can!
The Brewery, Garlands Rd, Woolston - 2pm, 7th December 2013
I've booked a large table, and they've told me that we're likely to be in the marquee at the far end of the Brewery.
There are new shops open right next door in The Tannery now - it's well worth a visit.
