From the Mountains to the Sea
Little ship Big ship!!!
In the mountains one day and out on the sea the next - that's one of the great things about New Zealand. We have so many different attractions within reasonable striking distance of each other.
I went out with the Wednesday morning paddlers this morning, hoping that my ankle would survive ok. As it turned out it wasn't possible for our expert fixer-upper to correct my malfunctioning rudder pedals, so luckily (in an odd sort of way) I couldn't use the pedal/rudder combo at all. It made for some interesting paddling coming back though, once the fresh nor-easter sprang up!
P. in his waka ama (outrigger canoe - home made!) and I were heading back to Cass Bay, past where the container ship was being loaded, in this image. A really super day :)
It's a beautifully made waka ama! Have a look at it Large.
It seems a lot of you liked yesterday's starry image of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Tekapo, topped by the Milky Way and the Southern Cross. Many thanks for the fabulous and oh so encouraging response, the hearts and stars - a delight to see it in the Spotlight. -
