Doctor Paw

Back from our sea kayaking trip. Early start in the little town of Ucagiz, paddled out to Kekova Island, then over to the small village of Simena which is only accessible by water, ending up back in Ucagiz for a late lunch.

Today was quite overcast, which was good for affording some sun protection. The Turkish Mediterranean coast is absolutely stunning, and the water a deep sparkling green-blue. The highlight of the trip is billed as being the sunken ruins of an old city, partly submerged after an earthquake. Really, there's not a lot to see but, given the natural highlights, this didn't really worry us!

Total paddling distance was about 8.5km - not too far. First time back in a boat for me in a year though, still as much fun as ever. More to come when back in Melbourne. We went out in a double today as my hand is even more swollen and I'm having trouble even curling my fingers over. J has taken to calling me Doctor Paw.

Typing this now while sipping mint lemonade and watching a storm roll in. The thunder sounds close, and the waiters are frantically moving tables in from outside before the rain starts.

Today's photo is from the village of Simena.
