The day after

I woke up before 8 and put on 'Today', to hear the awful news of what happened last night in Glasgow. I checked the BBC news app and I knew, even beforeI read it, that it was the Clutha. Not because of any second sight or anything but because it's the only bar I know in Glasgow. I've been in it and passed it many times on the road from Y's to Queem St and of course I've seen that Police helicopter many times too, flying above Hampden. I always think of the Clutha Bar too when I see the blips of Wanaka. We've stood by the R Clutha there. These tragedies are always worse when you know a place. I'd woke thinking about Glasgow too, about my Games interview next Saturday.

I hope no one I know was there last night and I hope those who were injured are ok.

But here in Edinburgh, a calm early morning sky from my bedroom.
