Under the sea

This hermit crab was at the edge of the water as we walked along Rosemarkie Beach.I was hoping he would pop out abit more but he must have felt our vibrations as he stayed in his shell but must have moved as by the time we went back he was no where to be seen.
There was a very colourful shell next to him that was damaged and we wondered if he had moved house.
This is the second time we've found a hermit crab in the past few months so I'm now wary of picking up shells of any size, I do nt want to take one home !

Saw a lovely Grey wagtail, several robins , a pair of Red Breasted merganser and a few oyster Catchers.
