Of Egrets and Shingle
Today we have been out for a good long walk. Our muddy boots of yesterday have been cleaned by the shingle of the beach.
We saw an egret, it circled us and kept landing in one of the pools close to the edge of the water. A wonderful sight to see.
At the former coastguard cottages at Shingle Street, Suffolk, there is a line of shells across the beach all the way to the sea's edge. It's a lot of work keeping that up, I'll bet. Mr H and I did a little repair work as we followed it towards the sea.
There's bit of sea mistiness all day, creating quiet calm. The sun almost made it through as we returned.
