The Union

Well, Alex and Nicola have published their big white book in time for Christmas;a Harry Potter sort of book; a book of such hope, bribery and optimism that I as a fully paid up member of the pessimism club am having trouble believing all the benefits we can expect at no extra cost. It all seems too good to be true. Nowhere are any disadvantages mentioned or how exactly we are going to pay for all that child minding and age care, especially as these are already in Scotland's remit and could be achieved now, if only we could afford it.
Caveat emptor :An Independent Scotland is not just for Christmas, it's for keeps.

However, today the Union Jack and Saltire are still flying together on the buildings in Edinburgh. We still have over 9 months to be convinced....... or not.

Later today if HL returns in one piece from the hills, we are having a two night mini adventure. We will sleeping elsewhere, but not I hasten to add under canvas.
Tomorrow we will be in deepest darkest England, crossing the border without our passports this time, but clutching wads of English bank notes, conscious that the Scottish variety are generally unwelcome. Back over the border on Friday.
