Sonoma Sunset
Peter spent the morning with me. We took the dogs for a walk, checked out the huge drill in a lot that we pass on the way to our favorite field, and greeted the horses in the near pasture by the road. We never remember to bring carrots, but they always come and check anyway. If we did remember carrots, the horses would no doubt be in the far field. The drill is apparently digging a well. They have already put in a septic tank and a leech field, so should be able to watch them building a house in a few months.
Peter and I made Beef Burgundy, which has been cooking away in my new slow cooker all day. When he comes back with the Los Angeles contingent, who are staying at their house, we'll add the final touches--mushrooms and more wine.
We've made the last trip to the store (for today anyway…)
The guest bed is made up…
The bathrooms are cleaned…
Wine is chilling…
Cheese is warming to room temperature…
Quite a change from last year when we were circling around the piles of boxes looking for something in which to make spaghetti.
