Daylight is coming

This is the view from my window in Sommaroy at 9.30 am. This time of year the sun never gets above the horizon and there's a sort of long half light. It will be pitch dark by 2.30.

Last night we walked through knee high soft snow to the Long House where our host sang North Norwegian songs. We lit old stoves with firewood, drank warm crow berry juice and ate warmed apple cake. Unreal. Magical. Unforgettable as we sat on reindeer skins.

No sign of the Aurora. I must return. A friend went over to Kiruna and saw low level light activity on the horizon last night.

I'm greedy. I want a life changing experience. I will be back.

Whale watching in an hour and then a late flight (snow permitting) back to Gatwick :-(
