The Crest of the Hill

I went out wandering around some of my old childhood haunts.And they are old haunts I can assure you!
I was surprised that a lot of what was open ground,has now been aquired by the Forestry Commission and planted up with trees to create the Avon Forest.More correctly it should be known as the Kingswood Forest.Because that is what it was in the time of King James.Before someone in their infinite wisdom decided to chop it down to buil ships with???
Anyway it is nice to know that this area will not be swallowed up with housing and I think wooden boats/ships are now out of fashion.
Open space on my doorstep eh?
