FOUND A TREAT
This Tufted Titmouse won my heart today – he’s such a pretty little bird. Even the peanut half in his tiny beak looks too big for him to manage.
The strings on this feeder show our attempt to outsmart the no-longer-baby squirrels who were leaping onto it from our deck – a distance of at least four feet. We thought they wouldn’t be able to jump into the smaller opening. HA! Instead the little stinker jumped onto the roof first and then climbed down between the strings. We’ve now moved the feeder several feet away from anything to jump from to reach it – but of course the pictures aren’t as good from there. So far the new location seems to be working.
