See Worthy?

My new journal name sadly has a bit to do with my personal condition. My cataracts are beginning to grow quickly and I am loosing vision now in both eyes. (Note to older statin users - there is some evidence that taking statins encourages growth of cataracts. Blind and heart-healthy or...) You can blame my over-use of saturation and contrast on them, probably. Anyway the good part of this note is that the Veterans Administration has me scheduled for surgery before Christmas. Who wants to come hold my hand.
When Mom had her eyes done at 80 she was a bit trepidatious. She was a registered nurse for decades and had been around when cataract surgery - if you could afford it - kept you strapped to a hospital bed, motionless, for 3 weeks. YIKES! Fortunately, hers and mine were/will be an hour out-patient procedure.
