Pumpkin hunting

I've been looking forward to going pumpkin hunting this year. The boys have not been so keen, but then they don't have many pumpkin hunting memories to bring to mind. Not that I do either, but they don't look at photographs as often as I do ;)

We went to Kenyon Hall Farm, and dodged the rain. They'd brought the pumpkins in from the fields as the rains were so persistent and heavy, to avoid the fruits rotting. The boys LOVED it. There were tractors to ride on and pumpkins to choose, there were pumkin carving stations and Bean declared he wanted a stegosaurus carving on the biggest one. Thanks for that, Beany boy. I managed. He was pleased. Phew!

Rather pleasingly, my one-year-ago blip is also a pumpkin hunting blip :D

We went to the cafe afterwards as I'd said we could have a cake, and it was only when a tray of baked squash floated past that I realised it was actually lunch time. I often wonder what other parents think when I'm there with my kids at lunchtime having coffee and cake with them instead of lunch. And then I notice that Bear is squeezing his juice out of his carton and Bean is trying to open the chocolate wrapper and all thoughts of "what must they think" fly out the window as I try and maintain some semblence of control....
