The Great Tapestry of Scotland

Consisting of 161 panels the Great Tapestry of Scotland traces the history of the nation from its geological beginnings, through its early civilisation and often bloody history , to its contribution to the wider world. All aspects of Scotland's history are here : politics, science, the arts and sport are all included, every panel beautifully and thoughtfully executed. It is indeed a very impressive piece of work. It is currently on display at Cockenzie House in East Lothian and well presented in the rooms and winding corridors of the house. It is to be hoped that the tapestry will be made available in other parts of the country as it certainly something which any Scot or anyone with an interest in our history should be enabled to see I have put together a small montage of some of the panels to try give a flavour of the colour and variety in the tapestry.
