Harry Horse

Anyone climbing aboard Harry as he gallops round the carousel in St Andrew Square this Christmas might be construed as having a particular view on the referendum.

There was a hive of activity early this morning on all sites of the Edinburgh Christmas Market bonanza. Since the markets are advertised as being open today, the constructors had better get their skates on.
The Ferris wheel seemed rather static too, although it may be that we early birds were just too early for any activity.

It was such a cold morning when I set out early to beat the crowds in town. The sun was brilliant and low, shining out of a cloudless sky and creating illuminated buildings with intense shadows.

The cold made eyes water and noses red. People were happed up with scarves, warm hats and gloves and with all the different languages spoken in town, it might have been any Central European country at Christmas instead of the once parochial Scottish capital.
