Christmas is A- Coming

It's that time of year again, and all was bustle when I went into town this morning.
The Mound Christmas tree is in place, the ferris wheel is up beside Sir Walter Scott, and the joiners are busy erecting the Christmas Market stalls in the Gardens.

With the domestic goddess inside me severely diminished at the thought of the card making and present wrapping to come, I had the idea to put in an early appearance at the temple to St Michael and find some nut roasts to freeze for an enforced vegetarian festive season.

Of course I can make my own and have done in the past, but sometimes the slummy granny takes over and sloth is the name of the game.
However, I was too early and they won't be in the shop for about another fortnight.

For my pains, I got soaked on the way home and had to have a change of clothes. The heating is on now and I have no intentions of interacting with the weather again today except to look out of the window and feel sorry for the pedestrians fighting their umbrellas in the gloom and horizontal rain.

His Lordship feels that I am portraying him in these pages in a less than favourable way, and has put an embargo on my saying anything about him that is not complimentary. And so let me say for the record that he excelled himself last night at our small soiree by keeping us laughing with a litany of jokes.

It is the most amazing thing that he can remember hundreds of jokes complete with punchline. when he finds it hard to remember people's names.
Oh dear, I'll get into hot water again.
