Chunky Monkey is having kittens

Well, someone's having kittens. In fact, both Mike and Chunks were perfectly relaxed about the whole event - Chunky Monkey, as it turned out, to the point of neglect.

The first kitten came out about an hour after this photo was taken and the last one must have been about 12 hours later, long after I had gone home. Six came out all together, but unfortunately no one was there to deal with them when Chunks decided that being mom just wasn't her thing and had left them to it. By the time Mike got back to see what was what, two had died and one was on the way out, thankfully revived by Mike who then coaxed Chunks back into her maternal role.

A lot of very beautiful kittens have been born at Mike and Fran's house and these were Chunky Monkey's first litter.
