Belgium Beer Festival. Grand Place, Brussels

A panoramic photo of the annual Brussels beer festival held in the Grand Place. The beer festival stalls are under the white tent tops in the centre of the square. The architecture of the Grand Place makes it a magnificent setting for just about anything happening in the square and drinking wonderful Belgian beers is no exception.

The rest of the streets around Brussels are generally up to the same high standard, making it a lovely city to spend time in and the modern architecture is sympathetically blended in with the old.

We spent some time talking and drinking with a pissed Belgian policeman (off duty) at the beer festival who advised us that the only things to see in Brussels apart from the Grand Place were the Mannekin Pis, the Atomium and the red light district. He then backtracked and said that the Atomium wasn't really worth going to see.
