Birthday Present

The tuis are back and this one stopped to pose for me as a special present for my birthday. Don't you just love the way his pollen covered beak echoes the colour and shape of the flax flowers?

Two of us at work today, Adventures So Far and myself, celebrated birthdays. Her's is a little lower than mine (by a couple of decades) so we won't talk numbers.

People have been wonderful in supporting me through today. It has had its moments when the lack of birthday wishes from my Blaze has hit hard but I've survived it. I guess it's just a matter of continuing to survive until it hurts a little less.
