Tree #4126

The skin gets thicker,
To survive slings and arrows,
Protecting the heart.

I have always loved the bark of this tree, so strong and deeply ridged, like a mountain landscape for the little creatures which live in and on it (look very closely boys and girls, and you might see one).

The tree is obviously very old, so I thought I would try and find out a bit more about it. It is listed in the Woodland Trusts Ancient trees register as entry number 4126. Apparently the girth of the tree is 5m 47cm .... which is a bit to big to hug comfortably.

This is the same tree as the one I blipped the other day.

Update: realised I had put the wrong link in for the Woodland trust record for this tree have corrected it now ... it is here
