Retreating

Today we took that path through the woods, over the wooden bridge (no troll) and up the steep path to the high forest road that runs from Kilmun Arboretum all the way above Loch Eck to the Lochgoilhead road. All around us we could hear the trees thrashing in the northerly wind that was so apparent in Dunoon, but for more or less the whole 70 minutes of our hike we were in calm air, sheltered by the hillside up which the last of the sun's light was retreating.
