Back in the Penh

Back in Phnom Penh after some work travels and here getting a flat tyre repaired on Helen and Berry's bike.

Observing a lot over the last couple of days about the random things that happen as a Brit in Asia.

Filipino colleagues said to me yesterday about skin tone: 'you're not too light for a white guy'. Good - sun abuse is working.

At the pool today my flip flops had gone missing when I wanted to put them back on. Eventually found them under the bench of someone who was relaxing after a workout. Had he deliberately tried to make away with them, pretending to put them on absent-mindedly? I stole them back while he had his eyes closed.

In the supermarket day Freddie from the Philippines thanked me for the British government's donation to the aid effort following Typhoon Haiyan.

Day ended with friends, eating home made bread with camembert and gruyere brought back recently from Europe, accompanied by a debate about the state of British politics.

One of the tyres on the bike wasn't checked correctly by this guy, and the inner tube had to be replaced by a different guy about an hour later...
