Agent Sepia
The observant among you would know that I like the sepia filter on my camera...
We've been in remote Central Vietnam visiting one of our project sites, and this was one of the community members having a cigarette break during a meeting that lasted all morning.
Around this region you can still see the effects of Agent Orange, the herbicide sprayed all over huge areas of Vietnam by American planes during the Vietnam War. Even over 40 years later lots of the vegetation is still stunted or scrubby growth, which shouldn't be the case in such a moist, fertile environment. Let's not go into the health ramifications of such treatment of the land.
I just about managed to choke down the cassava and rice wine produced by our project partners until people emerged from a wedding party at the house you can make out on the right, with a more crude, less fermented version, and without the modifying effect of cassava. At 11am this was all a little bit much.
