Fire in the Monadh Liath

Headed over to pick up Lucy in the morning which ended up a gitterfest involving getting her in the car and me deciding I must buy a map at Tiso's in Perth.

Upshot was we left ourselves with little time to get up Carn Dearg in the Monadh Liath. The terrain was awful; path disappeared and it was over some rough ground, couple of nav discrepancies and two river crossings and we were left with not enough time to get it done and walk out over that shit ground in the dark. Time to have a sandwich and turn back….. On the plus side I did identify a far easier route that would also make the hill close to being interesting. I'll be back.

We did get a good sunset on the way out though…..

So we headed to cottage, met up with the rest of the club, had a couple of rather fine steaks and lashings of red wine, beer and malt.
