Beach carving

When we were at the ferry terminal waiting to come home from Parksville, I saw a woman down by the boat ramp taking photos of something on the rocks beside the ramp. I couldn't make out what it was, so I decided to have a look. Someone had carved this face and left it propped on the rock. The carving was quite large, maybe 2 feet long (I'm not very good at estimating size). I thought it was a lovely thing for the carver to leave for others to enjoy.
