Beach and mountains

What a perfect day for my birthday! A sunny, crisp day in a beautiful location - near the beach with views of the mountains. I love being on sandy beaches and I love being in the mountains. This mini-getaway at Parksville gave me a dose of the beach, and I'm hoping for another getaway in those mountains sometime in the next couple of months for some cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
Most of all, I love being home on this spectacular island, but it's nice now and then to shake up daily routines.
