Sheep's Head Way 11 Barnagheehy to Bantry

The forecast was good - brightish and breezy, we decided to do the final leg of the Sheep's Head Way - the circular coastal route of the peninsula, a total of 90km . If you remember, we started this in September but life and weather has got in the way a bit.
We started off high at Barnagheehy - wild sparse moorland grazed only by sheep and ended up in the a lush avenue of rhodedendrons, myrtle and camellia leading to Bantry House.
We:
traversed little green roads,
walked through soggy pastured tufted with bog grass,
took a slight detour to admire some huge standing stones and scattered boulder burials
climbed up the small and windy road to Vaughan's Pass where the views were amazing but the wind mighty
relefected for a moment at the cleared space of a former cilleen (unbaptised babies' burial site)
walked along the Rope Walk where rope was literally stretched out as it was being made
walked over a little red Monetesque bridge
saw a russet fox
snatched a quick kiss as we staggered through the old gatehouse, the full circuit achieved!

Returning home, some a spectacular light show was going on in the Bay which I couldn't resist.
